Slipping into the Abyss

I read a post by that exemplar of couurage and decency Robert Reich that sounded as if there was almost no hope of stopping America’s slide into the abyss of a fascist dictatorship. Then I checked it to reread it and found that it had been followed by a post expressing hope — hope and faith in the American people. I have a grim feeling about this business, keeping in mind that it’s rational to expect the unexpected.
