Thanksgiving’s End

Reading today’s New York Times column by Tom Friedman raised my disgust to a new level. Trump has given Ukraine until Thanksgiving Day to (in effect) surrender to Putin. As Friedman says, Thanksgiving as an American holiday is over. It belongs to Russia now. Perhaps, after Trump is over, we can invent a permanent replacement — call it, perhaps, Contrition Day.
