Ruth Bader Ginsburg has acknowledged that her public criticism of Donald Trump was ill-advised: judges –– certainly Supreme Court justices –– shouldn’t publicly comment about the merits of candidates for public office. Her criticisms stand. She didn’t retract, or even soften, her assertion that, among other deficiencies, Trump is a “faker.” That such a wise and honorable jurist strayed outside the bounds of propriety suggests how great a threat Trump is to this country.
